UKWAZI SCHOOL OF NURSING PTY LTD (“the SCHOOL”) is a private education and training institution focused on the health care industry.  We have campuses in Johannesburg (Roodepoort), Gauteng and Potchefstroom (Tlokwe), North West Province.

Governance

UKWAZI SCHOOL OF NURSING PTY LTD is a private company duly registered in terms of the company laws of the Republic of South Africa.  It is governed by a board of directors.    The SCHOOL is not subsidised by the State.

The SCHOOL is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training until 31 December 2027 as a private Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997 – Registration Certificate No 2018/HE07/002.

Our history

UKWAZI SCHOOL was incorporated in 2002.  Our Main Campus in Roodepoort (Johannesburg, Gauteng) was accredited by the SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL in 2003 and the Potchefstroom sub-campus in 2006.  We have gone from strength to strength since then and pride ourselves on being a nursing education institution which has taken its place amongst the frontrunners in private nursing education in South Africa.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of UKWAZI SCHOOL OF NURSING is anchored in the belief that nursing education should prepare students to function safely and effectively as nursing practitioners.  We believe that nursing education should provide students an opportunity to progress within a laddered curriculum in order to enhance the profession of nursing and to serve as a foundation for life-long learning.  Nurses should be prepared to provide ethical, holistic and compassionate care to diverse populations in a variety of settings. We feel that our vision and mission can best be accomplished by incorporating into our curriculum the standards set forth by our regulatory, quality assuring and governing bodies as well as evidenced-based research provided by colleagues and industry.
